40-DAY PRAYER SESSION HELD FOR LATE ALHAJA OYEDELE (IYA LUKU)

A special 40-day prayer session was held today in memory of the late Alhaja Tawakalitu Olusola Oyedele, popularly known as Iya Luku, at her residence on Adeyemi Street, Mushin.

The prayer session, organized by her family, was well attended by religious leaders, members of The Mandate Movement in Mushin and Odi-Olowo, leaders and members of the All Progressives Congress (APC), residents, and supporters.

The solemn gathering was not only to pray for the soul of Iya Luku but also to offer prayers for her family and the continued peace and progress of Lagos State.

Special prayers were offered for the Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat; the Chairman of The Mandate Movement, Abdullahi Ayinde Enilolobo; and the entire group, as well as for Hon. Taofeek Adeyemi Alli and Hon. Moses Oluwatoyin Fayinka, the House of Representatives members for Mushin Constituencies I and II, respectively; Hon. Rasak Ajala, Chairman of Odi-Olowo Ojuwoye LCDA; and the entire APC family.

Iya Luku was a prominent figure in Mushin and played an instrumental role in grassroots mobilization within the APC in Mushin and Odi-Olowo. Her passing left a significant void in the political landscape, but the gathering demonstrated the continued unity and strength of the Mandate Movement in her honour. Iya Luku was the State Woman Leader of the Mandate Movement.

Among the dignitaries present were Prince Adewale Arogundade, a frontline aspirant for the chairmanship of Mushin Local Government; Mr. Tajudeen Alawiye; Hon. Moshood Lawal; a representative of Hon. Yinka Falade, Mr. Adegunwa; Alhaja Tawakalitu Aromire; Mr. Nojeem Olanrewaju; Hon. Yemisi Onas; Mr. Abdulrazaq Obafunso; Alhaji Adekunle Giwa; Mr. Femi Oyedele; and Mrs. Jumoke Omotoso, among other notable figures.

The prayer session concluded with words of appreciation from the family, who expressed their gratitude for the overwhelming support during this period of grief.
