The frontline mobilization group, the Presidential Coalition Committee (PCC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Lagos State Chapter, has inaugurated Street Captains to coordinate and mobilize residents across all streets in the state toward ensuring a successful outing for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, and the APC in the 2027 general elections.
The event, which was unique in the political history of the APC in Lagos, took place at the Police College Ground, Ikeja, the state capital. It was coordinated by Hon. James Abiodun Faleke, a member of the House of Representatives (Ikeja Federal Constituency) and State Coordinator of the Justice Forum (JF).
Leading The Mandate Movement Group (TMMG) to the epoch-making occasion was Abdullahi Ayinde Enilolobo, the immediate past State Organizing Secretary of the APC and current State Chairman of TMMG.
The large turnout of members drawn from all wards in Lagos State by both JF and TMMG signaled a new dawn of political unity and shared purpose. The gathering, organizers said, was not only aimed at correcting the painful loss of the presidential election in Lagos in 2023 but also at ensuring that President Tinubu’s re-election votes in Lagos surpass those of any other state in 2027.
Addressing the crowd of over 25,000 people, Enilolobo stated that although it is not yet campaign time, President Tinubu’s performance has proven beyond reasonable doubt that the only viable path for Nigeria beyond 2027 is continuity.
He noted that, “For the first time in Nigeria’s history, prices that once skyrocketed are now gradually declining. This has never happened before.”
Enilolobo added that through proper constitutional management of the economy, allocations to all tiers of government have quadrupled, boosting economic activities and driving infrastructure projects such as the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway, Badagry-Sokoto Highway, and the Lagos Deep Sea Port, among others.
“These projects,” he said, “are not only revitalizing Lagos’s economy but also creating thousands of new jobs and business opportunities.”
He urged all newly inaugurated PCC Street Captains to ensure residents take advantage of the ongoing Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs).
In his remarks, Hon. Faleke said the newly inaugurated Street Captains are expected to enlist at least ten individuals from every street in Lagos and forward their details to the PCC State Secretariat for continuous engagement and sustained mobilization.
He commended the JF and TMMG leaders for their unity of purpose, describing it as a clear signal that the APC is ready for victory in 2027.
Distinguished personalities at the event included Senator Tokunbo Afikuyomi, Hon. Oyinlomo Danmole, Hon. Akin Bash, Hon. Gbolahan Bago-Stowe, Hon. Muslim Folami, Hon. Rotimi Agunloye, Hon. Oris Sulaimon, Hon. Princess Olabisi Adebajo, Hon. Rasaq Olusola Ajala, Hon. Alabi, Hon. Ajigbotafe, Hon. Sunshine, Hon. Abiodun Mafe, Engr. Olayinka, and Hon. Sesan Daini, among others.
The event was rounded off with a thrilling performance by the King of Fuji Music, Alhaji Wasiu Ayinde Anifowoshe Marshal (KWAM 1), who serenaded the august gathering.
