.... Threaten to break Lagos APC tradition of unity 

Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly Rt Hon Mudashiru Obasa has stated that he is more competent than all the past Governors, as well as the present Governor of the State. He made this declaration in his remarks during the Year 2025 Budget presentation by the State Governor Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Thursday November 21.

In Obasa's words "To the  blackmailers who have embarked on the mission to distort and redefine our mission, let me state equivocally here, our mission is to promote our party on the platform of Mandate, Also becoming Governor is secondary; it is something I have not given a serious consideration. Nevertheless, that does not mean I am too young or lack experience to run; whereas, those who have been before me are not better of"

The sixth term lawmaker on his third run as speaker openly lament of the plan to impeach him, declaring that he will not sit back and allow his detractors flush him out of office.

"Let me also emphasise that those who live in glass house must not throw stone as the saying goes. This also brings to my mind, according to our people: eni ba yara logun ngbe. Meaning, the god of iron recognises the swift ones. In other words, those who are facilitating or planning to interfere in this House or destroy the cohesion of this institution should also be prepared for same fate."

Watchers of the politics of Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, are aware that the Speaker is aggressively pushing a pan Lagos agenda with his "Muda Eko, Obasa Lagos" movement structure and reachouts.

This may pit him against Seyi Tinubu and other contenders like Tokunbo Abiru, Obafemi Hamzat and former Governor Akinwunmi Ambode who are reportedly gearing up for Lagos APC gubernatorial 2027 ticket battle.
