APC NOT A LAWLESS PARTY - WARD CHAIRMEN TO BISI YUSUF, ADEBANJO, OTHERS

The Mandate Frontier caucus in Alimosho federal constituency, led by Bisi Yusuf and Femi Adebanjo, has launched a bitter media war against Lagos State All Progressives Congress (APC) Chairman, Hon. Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi JP.

The duo, along with their associates and minions, have indeed realized that every action and inaction bear consequences. Since the signature of their caucus is verbal and physical violence, as well as name-dropping, resorting to lies and propaganda is not beneath them.

They must be rueing the day Adunni Opeyemi Akindele incited them to storm the Lagos State APC Secretariat, supposedly to protest the non-recognition of their caucus by the State Executive Committee of the party.

No amount of media propaganda will erase or twist the facts of this case. The fact is that Bisi Yusuf and Femi Adebanjo led their motley supporters to brutalize the person and desecrate the office of the Lagos State APC Chairman.

Consequently, those indicted through the videos of the criminal assault they themselves filmed and widely syndicated were invited to face Fact-Finding / Disciplinary Committees in their respective wards. They were found guilty of breaching Article 26, subsections 6, 7, and 8 of the APC Constitution and were suspended according to the provisions of the party’s constitution.

It is important to note that the meeting called by the APC Lagos State Executive Committee with the Alimosho federal constituency chapter on Monday, June 24th, 2024, had invitations extended to the six council chairmen, the six party chairmen, the House of Representatives member, the two State House of Assembly members, and the serving cabinet member from the constituency.

It remains a mystery why septuagenarian Bisi Yusuf and spiritual Femi Adebanjo would mobilize their caucus members, complemented by hundreds of thugs, with the aim of forcing themselves into a meeting they were not invited to.

It is on tape that Ojelabi addressed them, detailing those invited and the criteria used for the invitation. Any rational mind would be satisfied with the explanation and recall back to base, but not The Mandate Frontiers. They swarmed on the APC State Chairman, removing his cap and eye glasses, dealing him punches, shouting him down, and calling him unprintable names.

The state woman leader of their caucus, now on suspension, Adunni Akindele, was Mosan Okunola LCDA APC Chairman. She was invited to the meeting. Why could The Mandate Frontiers chapter in Alimosho federal constituency not rely on her to represent them and marshal the interests of the caucus if needed ?

Simply because what they could not get through the front door, they were desperate to obtain via the back door, by any means necessary, foul and violent ones included.

The Mandate Frontiers caucus in Alimosho federal constituency broke away from the Justice Forum led by HE Hon. Princess Adejoke Orelope Adefulire OON, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Sustainable Development Goals and a member of the Lagos APC Governor's Advisory Council.

Their disclosed grievance was that she did not nominate their preferred persons for state cabinet consideration, and that she has formed the habit of cornering prime political slots given to the Justice Forum for her biological sibling, kith, and kin.

However, their real grievance was leadership. Bisi Yusuf had repeatedly challenged Adejoke Orelope Adefulire and insinuated that he was the one to lead the Justice Forum caucus in Alimosho federal constituency, not her.

He found allies in embittered Femi Adebanjo, whose third-term House of Representatives ambition failed, in Adunni Opeyemi Akindele, whose goal is to grab the green biro of Mosan Okunola LCDA, and Abiodun Ejigbadero, whose goal is to be the sole market daily fee collector in the constituency.

The refusal and steel resolve of Madam SDG, a former Lagos State Deputy Governor, not to surrender her leadership, even when the name of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR was invoked, signified the total breakdown of their union.

Ojelabi told Bisi Yusuf, Femi Adebanjo, and the protesting party members that Lagos APC does not recognize caucuses, only the party structure: hell was let loose on him.

The detachment of Department State Service (DSS) operatives that arrived to mass arrest these assaulters was not allowed to do so. Ojelabi maintained the position that there are provisions in the party constitution to address the matter.

The recourse to police investigation and consequent litigation by the League of Aworis in APC was called off by Ojelabi, who insisted that the APC Constitution has the pathway to resolve this issue.

However, when the institution of the provisions of the party constitution hit the indictees, they resolved to deny their actions of Monday, June 24th, 2024, and to deploy media propaganda to tarnish Ojelabi's image and reputation.

They had boasted that Lagos State Speaker Mudashiru Obasa and Cardinal James Omolaja Odunmbaku (aka Baba Eto) will save the indictees backlashes from any quarter.

"APC is not a lawless party; for every action and inaction, there are indeed consequences," submitted the Conference of APC ward chairmen in Alimosho federal constituency.
