THE Inspector General of Police and the Director General of the Department of State Services have deployed officers and men to the Lagos State House of Assembly complex
The siege this medium learnt is to reinstate the former Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly Mudashiru Obasa, who was removed by 34 members of the House on January 13th.
Obasa had boasted that he will be reinstated Tuesday February 18th, which is the date the Assembly had shifted commencement of planery to, before members reconvened to oust him from Office.
He had approached the Court last week for reinstatement, but Lagos residents and stakeholders were shocked as the IGP and the DSS moved men and resources to the House this morning.
Residents and stakeholders have vowed to resist any attempt to reinstate Obasa extra constitutionally, or direct Rt Hon Mojisola Lasbat Meranda to Resign, they said Obasa hardliner backers in the Presidency will make the State ungovernable, and should wait for the pronouncement of the Court on the matter
With this development it appears that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR took sides with Mudashiru Obasa despite allegations of financial and moral impropriety that remain uninvestigated by the security Agencies, he is the only one vested with the right to direct the IGP and the DSS.
Yinka Ajenifuja and close associate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Chairman Kayode Oluyede is fingered as the arrowhead for the "Save Mudashiru Obasa" project with the anti graft agency.
Presently 38 members are resolute in their opposition to the return of Obasa as Speaker and are unperturbed by the deployment of security agencies in and around the House facilities.
