OBASA’S DESPERATE PLOT TO REMOVE ORELOPE ADEFULIRE, MAKE YUSUF, ADEBANJO ALIMOSHO GAC MEMBER

The real reason for the show of shame by the duo of Femi Adebanjo and Bisi Yusuf who lead a group of thugs to beat the Lagos State Chairman of APC, Hon. Cornelius Ojelabi, at the ACME Road, Ogba office of the party on Monday 24th of June, 2024 has emerged. It is the inordinate ambition of the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa, that is behind the unfortunate incident which has sent wrong signals to the public about the ruling party 

Reliable sources from the Speaker’s camp said the Abeokuta, Ogun State born politician, who is representing Agege Constituency 01 for the sixth consecutive term in the Assembly, is nursing the ambition to succeed Governor Sanwo-Olu as the next helmsman, hence his desperation to make inroads into Alimosho territory which is a key factor in the decision of who becomes the governor.

His desperation to clinch the ticket of the party has made him hatch the plan to make his supporters in the local government recognized by the leadership of the All Progressives Congress, APC, at state level at all costs. He is, thus, plotting to either remove the sole members of the prestigious Governors Advisory Council, GAC HE Hon Princess Adejoke Orelope Adefulire OON or make at least one of them a Co GAC member with her, so that they can be part of the decision makers in the territory. The plan is to first discredit the incumbent member, H.E. Hon Princess Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire OON, as a weakling who cannot handle the big, strategic and vote capital council. Obasa will then sell a dummy to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR, the father of Lagos politics, that Alimosho is too sensitive to be left in the hands of just one person, especially a weakling like Orelope Adefulire. He will convince the President to see reason for a second member from the territory because of 2027 in the very least, if Adejoke Orelope Adefulire cannot be excused out of the GAC. Once the President agrees, he will sell Bisi Yusuf to him and if Tinubu disagrees (because of the Omu Aran Kwara State hailed Prince, Bisi Yusuf’s connection with Ogbeni Rauf Adesoji Aregbesola) he will use the Ilishan born Adebanjo as plan B. 

He (Obasa) has concluded plan to use three GAC members in his TMM Obasa group (Dr. Finnih, Senator Ogunlewe and Cardinal Odunmbaku) for the hatchet job. Senator Ganiu Solomon, another GAC member in TMM, was ruled out of the plan because of his power tussle with Bayo Oshiyemi in the TMM Obasa chapter in Mushin. The plan is for Senator Ogunlewe to work on Prince Tajudeen Olusi, GAC Chairman, to agree with the plan to increase the number of GAC members from Alimosho as a permanent solution to problems in the area. Dr. Finnih and Baba Eto (Odunmbaku) are to work on Prince Rabiu Oluwa, the Lagos-West Senatorial Leader, and Hon Chief Henry Oladele Ajomale. 

The protest was set as the yardstick for measuring the suitabilities of Femi Adebanjo and Bisi Yusuf for the GAC job, hence their desperation to rough-handle the party chairman despite all the appeals made to them to see that the meeting was not designed to give any tendency an upper hand. Obasa had told the duo that they were being watched and had sent some of his trusted men to assess their performance. This probably explains why they raised their voice after first reasoning with Ojelabi that the meeting was not meant for former honourables, and that it was not designed to take any decision on formula for sharing positions.

Having lost their bids for third and fourth terms as House of Representatives and House of Assembly members respectively, Femi Adebanjo and Bisi Yusuf defected from the Abdullahi Ayinde Enilolobo led Mandate Movement and joined themselves with the Justice Forum led by Adejoke Orelope Adefulire in Alimosho federal constituency, no member, officer or leader in Mandate Movement left with the duo. After the general elections and the constitution of the Lagos State cabinet committee they left the Justice Forum and were recruited into TMM Obasa Group, by Hon Adunni Akindele and Alhaji Abiodun Ejigbadero senior special assistant and front of Mr Speaker in the constituency. They have being visiting verbal and physical violence and intimidating on APC leaders, officers and members in the constituency, dropping the name of the Speaker and Baba Eto. 

"Now is the time for Mr President to call Obasa to order so that he will not continue to use his closeness to him to exploit the people. He is currently bullying our people in the name of being “Tinubu favourite” He has cowed many people into his TMM Obasa Group: the Muda Eko, Obasa Lagos family and has made slaves out of our politicians especially in Agege. He keeps giving people the impression that the President is in support of the way he disrespects the Governor, HE Mr Babajide Olushola Sanwo-Olu and makes unprintable statements about him in private and in the open. How on earth does Obasa feels comfortable discrediting the office of the Governor when he himself is aspiring for that office. Who will help us tell Mudashiru that we have had Speakersin this state before and that he will not be the last one. Why must we be suffocated because Obasa wants to be in the corridors of power for life". Hon Yusuf Gbadebo from APC Agege Ward C laments
