APC CHIEFTAIN RAJH-LABEL ‘BIQ’ DIES IN AUTO-CRASH

 

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Babatunde Rajh-Label popularly known as BIQ is dead. 

The politician died on Friday, 31 May, 2024, in a fatal auto-crash on his way to his country home in Badagry.

He was reported to have attended a meeting in Alimoso area on Friday. After the meeting, he told other participants that he was going to Badagry. He drove alone since his driver had taken his wife and children to Badagry ahead of him.

His car had a collision with a heavy duty truck, he died on the spot.

He was in Ilaro on Thursday, 30 May, 2024, with his Principal and Senator representing Ogun West Senatorial District in the Senate, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola where Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun had come to commission a project.

BIQ is based in Ifako Ijaiye Local Government, until his death, was a member of the Lagos State School Rehabilitation Committee.

The late BIQ, in his late 50s, had served as Vice Chairman and Sole Administrator of Ifako-Ijaiye Local Government

He will be laid to rest according to Islamic injunction on Saturday June 1st, 2024 at his Badagry home.

In a related development former Sole Administrator of Mosan Okunola LCDA Lagos State Hon Barr Rotimi Ekundayo Ogunwuyi has paid a glowing tribute to the late BIQ 

In a release he personally signed Ogunwuyi extol the virtues of the late politician concluding that the progressive family lost a rare gem and a defender of the less privileged 

The statement reads 

"Death has dealt a decisive blow on us with the untimely death  of   Hon.( Barr)  Babatunde Rajh - Label (BIQ). BIQ was not only a brilliant lawyer but also a dedicated politician whose contributions have left an indelible mark on our society.

"BIQ  exemplified the highest standards of integrity and professionalism in his Law practice .He was known for his unwavering commitment to justice, always ensuring that the rights of his clients were vigorously defended. His profound knowledge of the law, coupled with his sharp analytical skills, made him a formidable advocate.  BIQ dedication to the rule of law and his relentless pursuit of fairness and equity earned him the respect and admiration among his colleagues  and the community at large.

"In his political career, he was a grassroot politician . BIQ was a beacon of hope and a champion for the underprivileged. His leadership was characterized by a deep sense of responsibility and a genuine desire to improve the lives of his constituents. He was a visionary, always striving to implement policies that promoted social justice, economic development, and educational advancement. BIQ's ability to listen to the needs of the people and translate those needs into effective representation was a testament to his exceptional leadership skills and his compassionate heart.

"Your  legacy as a lawyer and politician will continue to inspire future generations. His life was a testament to the power of dedication, integrity, and service. Although his passing has left a vacum, his contributions to our society will never be forgotten. We mourn the loss of a true gem and honor his memory by continuing the work he so passionately believed in.
