GUNMEN KILL BABCOCK UNIVERSITY PROFESSOR, OLOMOJOBI, KIDNAP TWO

 


Gunmen stormed Babcock University axis of Iperu Remo in Ogun State, killed Yinka Olomojobi, a professor of law, and kidnapped two others.


The professor was reportedly shot for refusing to go with the gunmen, while two residents were forcibly taken away to an undisclosed location.


The spokesperson for the Ogun State Police Command, Omolola Odutola, said a suspect has been apprehended in connection with the crime.


“A two-week-old security guard at the location of the incident around Babcock University has been detained on suspicion, as the police launch a thorough investigation into the matter


"The situation report from the Iperu Police Division indicates that a kidnapping and murder incident occurred on the 19th of April, 2024, at about 9:20 pm.


“A suspicious coincidence led the police to arrest one Awada Ishaya of Plateau state who was employed two weeks ago when the event centre was launched as a security man for further interrogation” She said
