The Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule, has urged the Labour Party presidential candidate in the 2023 election, Peter Obi, to support the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. He said this when Peter Obi visited him in Lafia on Monday.
Governor Sule said that Peter Obi has the experience and capacity to support President Tinubu for the good of the country.
Governor Sule told Obi that President Tinubu is his friend and colleague, and that at a point, all of them were living in Lagos. He said that because of that, Peter Obi should contribute his own quota to the development of the country.
Speaking further, he said that the elections are over, and that President Tinubu needs the support of all Nigerians now to move the country forward.
He said, "I know you have the experience, competence and capacity to support the President in the overall interest of the country.
"The President is your friend and colleague, we were all in Lagos at some point, as such, you need to contribute your quota to the development of the country."
Governor Sule added that Peter Obi can contribute his quota quietly because Tinubu needs all the necessary support to get Nigeria back on track.
Speaking about the purpose of his visit, Peter Obi said that he is touring the country to render support to Nigerians during this Ramadan period.
He said that he is not desperate to become the president of Nigeria, but what he is desperate to see is a Nigeria that will work for everyone.
He also commended Governor Sule for the road projects he has built across the state.
