GAC MEMBER CHAIRS IJEBU COUNCIL

A member of Lagos State Governance Advisory Council (GAC), Otunba Bushura Alebiosu, has been appointed chairman of Council of Otunbas, by Awujale of Ijebuland, Oba Sikiru Adetona.

His appointment follows demise of the former chair, Otunba Wahab Osinusi, in September.

Alebiosu, popularly known as Bush of Africa, is the Otunba Gbelegbuwa of Ijebu land.

The council is an assemblage of prominent and influential otunbas involved in the promotion of cultural, social, and development of Ijebuland.

Awujale described Alebiosu’s appointment as ‘a testament to his leadership prowess, integrity and contributions to the socio-cultural and political development of Ijebu land’.

According to him, Alebiosu has distinguished himself and ‘possesses capacity to lead the council’.

The monarch urged the new chairman to ensure that the values, ideals and goals of the council are upheld towards uplifting Ijebu society.

Alebiosu thanked Awujale for finding him worthy to chair the council.

He pledged to lead with vigour and carry members along in promoting values and tradition of Ijebuland.
