The Ondo State Government has released a 10-day burial programme for the late Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu SAN, spanning from February 15 to 25.
The announcement followed a state cabinet meeting led by Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, where the burial planning committee was unveiled.
On January 5 the body of the late former Governor had arrived in Nigeria from Germany, where he passed away. The plane carrying his remains touched down at approximately 3:39.
Upon arrival, Akeredolu's body was received by his wife, Mrs. Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu, his children, and siblings, with Prof. Wole Akeredolu, the immediate younger brother of the deceased, leading the family.
The burial programmes, as disclosed by the state government, outline a schedule that encompasses various ceremonies and tributes.
The funeral arrangements, slated for February 15 to 25, include a crusade, Jumat Service, Valedictory Service, NBA Tributes, Service of Songs, Commendation Service, Lying in State, Ondo state programme, Service of Songs in Owo, Funeral Service, and a Thanksgiving Service.
Notably, the governors from the Southwest region, including Lagos, Oyo, Osun, Ogun, and Ekiti, expressed their intention to collaborate with Governor Aiyedatiwa and Akeredolu's family to ensure a fitting burial.

Thursday, February 15: Crusade in Akure
Friday, February 16: Jumat Service in Akure
Monday, February 19: Valedictory Service & NBA Tributes in Ibadan, with a Service of Songs in Jericho and Ologun-eru simultaneously at 4 pm
Tuesday, February 20: Commendation Service at 10 am in All Saints Church Jericho and Lying in State at his residence in Jericho, Ibadan
Wednesday, February 21: Ondo state programme in Akure from 10 am
Thursday, February 22: Service of Songs in Owo from 4-7 pm at St. Andrews Church Owo
Friday, February 23: Funeral Service at 10 am in St. Andrews Church, Owo, followed by a Reception at Mydas Hotel
Sunday, February 25: Thanksgiving Service at 10 am in St. Andrews Church Owo
