APOLOGIZE TO JUDICIARY - APC TO PDP

In light of the false, reckless, and unwarranted attacks the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, unleashed on the judiciary throughout the election cycle, the All Progressives Congress, APC, has called on the PDP to provide a sincere apology to the courts and judges.

The rulings made by the Supreme Court concerning the petitions for governorship elections in Lagos, Kano, Zamfara, Plateau, Ebonyi, Bauchi, Abia, and Cross River have prompted the APC to take this stand.

APC spokesman Felix Morka said in a statement, "Assuming it has any spec of decency left, the PDP must tender an unreserved apology to the courts and our judges for the senseless, irresponsible, reckless, and unjustified attacks it mounted against the judiciary throughout this electoral cycle."

He said that the APC accepts with composure the rulings of the Supreme Court regarding election challenges that challenge the outcomes of the 2023 gubernatorial elections in eight states.

“The Supreme Court affirmed the election of our wonderful party's gubernatorial candidates in Lagos, Ebonyi, and Cross River States. On the other hand, other political parties and their candidates won the appeals in the states of Kano, Zamfara, Bauchi, Plateau, and Abia.

"The rulings of the Apex Court are final and enforceable against all parties involved in the legal disputes, even if they will surely provoke differing opinions and reviews. The rulings made today serve as a powerful confirmation of the judiciary's legitimacy, vitality, and independence.
