Olubadan in Council has nominated Oba Owolabi Olakulehin as the next Olubadan, being the Most senior High Chief in the Balogun line of Olubadan Chieftaincy Ascension.
The nomination was made after a closed door meeting by the Olubadan-in-Council and Oba Owolabi Olakulehin was nominated by the Osi Balogun of Ibadanland, Oba Gbadamosi Adebimpe at Olubadan of Ibadan palace, Oja’ba.
Speaking on behalf of the council, the Otun Olubadan of Ibadanland, Rashidi Ladoja said the Council has nominated Ọba Olakulehin as the next Olubadan, and that nomination letter which was already signed in the meeting would be sent to Oyo State Governor HE Engr Seyi Makinde for his approval.
High Chief Ladoja made it known that the nomination was done in accordance to the age long tradition of Ibadanland noted that once the governor give his approval, the coronation process would begin.
All the members of the Olubadan in council, including the Olubadan designated were present at the meeting except the Ọtun Balogun of Olubadan, Oba AbÃmbólá Ajibola, who had earlier this week said oba Olakulehin was not medically fit to be coronated as the Olubadan.
