Throughout the holy month of Ramadan in 2024, Honorable Rasaq Olusola Ajala, the Executive Chairman of Odi Olowo Ojuwoye LCDA, exemplified profound compassion and leadership by initiating extensive feeding prograes and community engagements for his constituents.
Ajala orchestrated a significant initiative, providing daily meals to 1000 children throughout Ramadan. Beyond this remarkable effort, he regularly hosted various Islamic societies within his council, fostering community unity and mutual support during this sacred period. Each gathering was more than a breaking of fast; it became a platform for prayers, uniting attendees in supplication for the well-being of their council, Lagos State, Nigeria, and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR.
Not limiting his outreach, Ajala ensured that a diverse array of stakeholders were included in his Ramadan activities. Members of community associations, persons with disabilities, artisans, traditional leaders, youth representatives, market traders, and individuals from other faith communities all shared in the breaking of fast ceremonies, underlining a commitment to inclusivity and social cohesion.
Even the All Progressives Congress (APC) was embraced in this spirit of communal engagement, with party leaders, officers, and members partaking in the iftar meals alongside the executive chair.
Explaining his motivation, Ajala, popularly known as HRA cited the challenging economic circumstances faced by many families during Ramadan, emphasizing the importance of providing sustenance to children as a relief for their parents during this spiritually significant period.
Ajala's Ramadan initiatives stand as a testament to his dedication to public service, embodying the values of empathy, unity, and communal support within his constituency. Through these actions, he not only nourished bodies but also nurtured a sense of solidarity and shared responsibility among all residents, regardless of background or belief.
