PESEIRO HAILS MUSA'S INFLUENCE DESPITE NOT PLAYING IN AFCON FINALS

Super Eagles manager, Jose Peseiro has hailed the influence of captain, Ahmed Musa on him and also the team ahead of tomorrow’s AFCON 2023 final against Cote D’Ivoire.

Peseiro described Amhed Musa as his assistant and adviser. He also revealed that he wants to win the title so that Musa can lift the trophy on Sunday.

The Portuguese manager said this while interacting with the media on Saturday afternoon.

“Captain is special & important to the team. He is my assistant, he advises me, he gives me the necessary support. He is committed in his role & he can play. We shall wait & see tomorrow, but we want to win the #AFCON for Musa to lift the trophy”

Ahmed Musa is one four players (Francis Uzoho, Ojo Olorunleke and Bruno Onyemaechi) yet to feature for the Super Eagles so far in the tournament.

However, the Super Eagles captain is on the verge of making history alongside Kenneth Omeruo as they look to become the first Nigerian players to win the AFCON twice.

Ahmed Musa and Kenneth Omeruo were part of the Super Eagles team that won the 2013 edition under late Super Eagles captain and coach, Steven Keshi.

The Super Eagles of Nigeria will take on the Elephants of Cote D’Ivoire in a blockbuster final at the Stade Olimpique Alasanne Ouattara on Sunday in a bid to win their fourth title.
