IFAB INTRODUCES BLUE SIN CARD INTO FOOTBALL

Blue cards are set to be introduced in professional football as part of sin-bin trials, according to the UK Telegraph.

This will mark the first new colour of card widely used in 50 years.

There are currently only yellow and red cards used in football.

But the report claims that on Friday, the International Football Association Board, IFAB, will announce the revolutionary move.

It is part of new measures that will see players removed from play for 10 minutes, if they commit a cynical foul or show dissent towards a match official.

Players would now be sent off if they receive two blue cards in a match or a combination of a blue and a yellow.

Elite trials could begin this summer, although top-tier competitions will be excluded from initial testing
