KILLERS OF MONARCHS, KIDNAPPERS OF SCHOOL PUPILS IN EKITI WILL FACE THE LAW- ALAKE

 

Dr. Dele Alake, the Minister of Solid Minerals Development has expressed deep sadness in the report of the gruesome killing of two traditional rulers in Ekiti State, the Onimojo of Imojo-Ekiti, Oba Olatunde Samuel Olusola, and the Elesun of Esun-Ekiti, Oba David Babatunde Ogunsola.

The tragic incident occurred while they were returning from a security meeting, highlighting the persistent challenges of insecurity in our country.

This was contained in a statement he signed and made available to newsmen on Tuesday in Abuja.

The statement reads: “I extend my heartfelt condolences to Governor Abiodun Oyebanji, the government, and the people of Ekiti State, as well as the families and subjects of the departed kings. This unfortunate incident underscores the urgent need to address the broader issue of insecurity in our nation, and the President Tinubu-led administration remains committed to surmounting these challenges.

“I strongly condemn this act of violence and urge the security agencies to swiftly apprehend the assailants, ensuring they face the full wrath of the law. Justice must be served for this heinous crime. Additionally, I call on the Police high command and the Department of State Security to take immediate action to rescue the kidnapped primary school pupils from Emure-Ekiti.

“This distressing moment is undoubtedly a challenging time for the people of Ekiti State and all Nigerians. Nevertheless, the Federal Government, under the leadership of President Bola Tinubu, remains dedicated to working tirelessly to enhance the security situation in our country”.
