SENATE APPROVES STUDENT LOAN ACT BILL

 

In a significant step toward enhancing access to higher education, the Senate successfully passed the Student Loans (Access to Higher Education) Act (Repeal and Re-Enactment) Bill, 2024, on Wednesday, March 20, 2024. 

This landmark legislation marks a pivotal moment in the nation's commitment to creating educational opportunities for its citizens.

The bill's passage culminated with dedicated efforts and detailed scrutiny by the Senate Committee on Tertiary Institutions and TETFUND. After thorough evaluation, the committee's findings and recommendations were brought forward to the plenary session for a decisive vote.

Senator Muntari Dandutse (APC – Katsina South), the esteemed chairman of the committee, presented the comprehensive report, facilitating informed discussions and subsequent approval by the Senate. 

This legislative achievement confirms President Tinubu's resolve to remove financial barriers to higher education, ensuring that aspiring students nationwide have the means to pursue their academic goals.
