Immediate past Kaduna State Governor and Founder Afri-Venture Capital Malam Nasir-Rufai is on a road trip to raise $100 million venture fund capital.
The Afri-Venture Capital delegation led by El-Rufai meets AfDB president, Dr. Akinwumi Adesina in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire.
El-Rufai had earlier raised $2 million of his money for the offtake of the ($100m) venture capital fund and plans to convince investors to provide the remaining funding.
El-Rufai a highly successful Surveyor had served as the Director General of Nigeria's Bureau of Public Enterprises, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory during the Olusegun Obasanjo administration
He described himself as an Accidental Public Servant in his memoir published after his appointive years
After his eight years as Kaduna State helmsman in 2023, he was nominated as a minister by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu but the national assembly did not confirm his nomination citing security reasons.
