Rahman Bisi Yusuf, an immediate past House of Assembly member (Alimosho Constituency 01) is telling all who cares to listen, that Cardinal James Omolaja Odunmbaku aka Baba Eto, has directed him and leaders of the newly formed Alimosho Mandate Frontiers to take over the leadership and structure of The Mandate Movement in Alimosho federal constituency.
He also posited that he has the directive of "Baba Eto" to stripped Alimosho Mandate Movement, AMM led by Abdullahi Ayinde Enilolobo of the 55 percent power allocation of the Group in All Progressives Congress, APC, Alimosho federal constituency.
It will be recalled that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR had instituted a power sharing agreement between the two factions in APC Alimosho federal constituency, while Alimosho Mandate Movement, AMM, led by Abdullahi Ayinde Enilolobo got 55 percent, Alimosho Solidarity Movement ASM led by HE Hon Princess Adejoke Orelope Adefulire got 45 percent. The two APC caucuses have being working harmoniously with this arrangement.
The self styled Prince of Hope claimed that Cardinal Odunmbaku has dissolved Alimosho Mandate Movement and enpanelled Alimosho Mandate Frontiers as her replacement. He also claimed that going forward the Cornelius Ojelabi led APC state secrerariat will only acknowledge communication from Alimosho Mandate Frontiers and not Alimosho Mandate Movement.
He claimed that Baba Eto has given The Mandate Group flag to Alimosho Mandate Frontiers, in a ceremony that was held in the course of the week.
Speaking to selected newshounds, Bisi Yusuf offered that "Cardinal James Omolaja Odumbaku (Baba Eto) has handed The Mandate Movement in Alimosho federal constituency to Hon Olufemi Adebanjo (Eyes Open) and Hon Rahman Bisi Yusuf. The Group will function by the name Alimosho Mandate Frontiers, to differentiate it from the Abdullahi Ayinde Enilolobo led unit and Alhaji Abiodun Ejigbadero will be the new constituency leader.
"Cardinal James Omolaja Odumbaku (Baba Eto), having being briefed of the injustices metted out to Mandate Group members and leaders, fully support the break-away of Alimosho Mandate Frontiers from Alimosho Solidarity Movement led by HE Hon Princess Adejoke Orelope Adefulire. The Mandate Movement and The Justice Forum cannot work together.
"Cardinal James Omolaja Odumbaku (Baba Eto) has consequently directed APC State Chairman Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi to only acknowledge communications from Alimosho Mandate Frontiers and not from Alimosho Mandate Movement led by Abdullahi Ayinde Enilolobo.
"Cardinal James Omolaja Odumbaku (Baba Eto) thereafter directed the constitution of Alimosho Mandate Frontiers Ward and LG executives as well as the commencement of meetings in the six councils in Alimosho federal constituency.
"The final verdict on all matters of Alimosho Mandate Frontiers in Alimosho federal constituency is vested in and rest with Cardinal James Omolaja Odumbaku"
When asked if he was aware that "Baba Eto" is no longer the State Chairman of The Mandate Movement, Bisi Yusuf had no answer to give.
When asked if he could recollect that "Baba Eto" openly said both Justice Forum and Mandate Movement are no longer needed in Lagos State APC family. Bisi Yusuf had no answer.
When asked if he was aware that "Baba Eto" and late Chief Badmus raised Abdullahi Ayinde Enilolobo's hand as the State Chairman who took over from late Chief Badmus. He had no answer.
When asked why he left The Mandate Movement to The Justice Forum and seek to return to the Group without consultations with those who kept the flag of the outfit flying in his absence in the constituency. He had no answer.
When asked why he had to always be in public or party offices at age 70 or are there no men he has groomed over the course of his 24 unbroken years in public offices. He had no answer.
When asked if the ban on Mandate Movement and Justice Forum has been lifted. He had no answer.
Bisi Yusuf, a frontline member of Alimosho Mandate Movement leadership body known as G-18 broke away from the Group two years ago because his protégé Hon Luqmon Agbaje was not allowed to succeed Hon Shakiru Yusuf as Ayobo Ipaja LCDA Chairman in the 2021 local government election.
Efforts made by the Alimosho G-18 to make Bisi Yusuf see reasons why Hon Bola Shobowale should succeed Hon Shakiru Yusuf failed because he claimed he is the Apex Leader of APC Ayobo Ipaja LCDA and his will must prevail on all matters.
He was told to consider the fact that Bola Shobowale has waited for 4 administrations, aside being his senior politically, she once had the ticket in her hands but stepped down in obidience to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR instruction, yet the three term House of Assembly member, two term council boss, stood his ground and forced the party to the primary which Agbaje, his protégé, eventually lost.
He met with the G-18 collegiate leadership, to make a request, that the condition by which he will accept the candidacy and work for the success of Bola Shobowale at the council poll, is that he should be given the Vice Chairmanship alongside the Secretary to the Local Government slots. While Abdullahi Enilolobo and the G-18 conceded the Vice Chairmanship slot to him, his request for the SLG slot was denied, as all positions cannot be shared before the election.
The Alimosho G-18 leadership further said, if he is in his position as a leader, will he give out all positions that will be used to settle other blocs in the post-election negotiations before election ?
With this response, Bisi Yusuf claimed his apex leadership was violated and severed a 25 year political relationship and all links with Alimosho Mandate Movement.
Desperate for a position in the council authority, Bisi Yusuf later came to request for the position of SLG, this is despite his non participation in the Bola Shobowale election.
This will be unfair to those who did the job, so he was not given. He instructed his protégé Agbaje Luqmon who served as SLG in the preceding administration not to vacate his Office at the Secretariat, until the Lagos State Government publish the list of executive committee members of the 57 councils. Agbaje had to vacate the Office in shame.
Sequel to this development he consistently denigrated the Alimosho Mandate Movement, using his position as a member of the State House of Assembly to victimize public office holders in Alimosho federal constituency.
He and his followers consequently joined Adejoke Orelope Adefulire leadership pre 2023 General election. But the union died in less than six months: again Bisi Yusuf's supposed grouse is that HE Orelope Adefulire cornered all prime public, party and caucus positions to her kinfolks, leaving him and his followers dry.
