HOW ORELOPE ADEFULIRE LOST PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION IN ALIMOSHO

Facts are emerging on how the 2023 presidential election in Alimosho federal constituency was lost by the All Progressives Congress APC to the Labour Party.

The loss lays primarily at the door step of a fair weather political rolling stone, Hon Olusola Popoola; who was a two term Councillor (Leader of the House) and later served one term as Secretary to Agbado Oke Odo LCDA. Both political offices were occupied as a BATCO Mandate member against the wish of many other members with better commitments  and outstanding qualities. These members accepted to work with him even though they are not happy about the developments. Party decision is supreme, so they complied.

The only time Hon Sola Popoola was advised to step aside in consideration for the aspiration of other long-suffering party members and collective good of the party, Hon Popoola defected to HE Hon Princess Adejoke Orelope Adefulire led Alimosho Solidarity Movement, ASM betraying the BATCO Mandate group only to be compensated with a lower grade political office, Supervisory Councillor in Agbado Oke Odo LCDA, to the eternal shock of followers of political developments in the constituency and to members of ASM, especially the youth wing. It was clear at that point that he is just very desperate to keep being in power and not for the love of the party or it members.

This ASM leader claimed he won his polling unit, but cleverly left out the fact that Alhaji Abdulazeez Abiola aka Istijabar, the chairman of Road Transport Employees Association of Nigeria, RTEAN and a member of The BATCO Mandate Group mobilized his members overwhelmingly and voted in this particular polling unit.

He was foisted through the back door by HE Hon Princess Adejoke Orelope Adefulire as Alimosho APC LGA Collation Officer in the February 2023 presidential election despite not receiving the required training for the exercise from the state Secretariat.

Now that his ASM caucus is shopping for how the election was lost and won, it will be proper to ask Hon Popoola to present the result sheet of the presidential election. It will also be right to ask him if he did participate in the LGA result collation processes by INEC. And if he did, then he should present the final results duly signed by him as Alimosho APC collation officer.

It is common knowledge that the 66years old man slept off during the all night collation exercise. Further information revealed that he slept off like someone who has no worries. A yet to be confirmed source actually said that Hon Popoola slept in agreement between himself as APC representative and the Labour Party officials who had threatened him to leave the collation centre or collect N5Million then go and sleep. He probably chose the later.

He allegedly woke up after the INEC had presented the results at the state collation centre. Thanks to a BATCO Mandate member who called to asked what transpired at the collation centre to warrant such poor result flying on the media, Hon Popoola would have continue to tell his gullible ASM leaders and members that results is not ready. It was at this point he realized that the horse has bolted out of the barn. He left the Alimosho Collation centre with a smiling bank account balance however but without a result sheet.

Hon Popoola should be reminded of the meeting he had with Agbado Oke Odo LCDA council Chairman in 2019, the late Dr Augustine Arogun, who grilled him over his anti-party roles, especially regarding the meeting ASM leaders and himself held with Mr Jimi Agbaje, the then Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, gubernatorial candidate at the residence of Alhaji Babs Kareem. The late Dr Arogun told him to choose between our party and the PDP, while his role as APC collation officer was immediately withdrawn.

This is the same person HE Orelope Adefulire detailed to watch over the interest of the party four years down the line. Well, birds of a feather flock together.
